CANINE GOOD CITIZEN TESTING (CGC): Michael is a certified CGC evaluator for the American Kennel Club (AKC). He offers
on-going CGC testing at the conclusion of his Intermediate Manners/CGC dog class which prepares students to take the CGC test for free. Non students may take the evaluation for only $15.00. Email Michael to learn of the next test date. Earning a CGC Certificate can be helpful when obtaining home insurance as well as preparing your dog to become a therapy dog.
NATIONAL ASSOCIATION OF CANINE SCENT WORK (NACSW): The sport of K9 Nose Work was inspired by the training methodology of detection K9s and borrows elements of that training for recreation. The terms nose work, fun nose work, scent work, search work are all commonly used references to describe any activity where the dog is using its nose to locate a target scent or odor.

A nation-wide, 24-hour service offered by the Pet Poison Control
Center. It is available to pet owners and veterinary professionals. A
fee of $35 is charged per case, with no extra charge for follow-up
calls.
City ordinances define a potentially dangerous, dangerous or vicious dog
and what the responsibilities entail for the owner of such a dog.
Additionally, some cities have enacted ordinances which contain breed
specific legislation (BSL), prohibiting or restricting the ownership of
a certain breed(s). The Association of Pet Dog Trainers has a position statement as to proposing a model dog law.
