Remote Training Collars
Dogtra Remote Training Collars are very effective, humane and safe training tools when used properly.  When used at low levels, the just right level, it's like a tap on the shoulder and it becomes an excellent communication tool.  It is not painful like an electronic fence system is designed to be.  For more information about the benefits of remote collar training, visit The Truth About Shock Collars or Michael's articles, Remote Collars FAQ and 3 Mistakes People Make When Purchasing a Remote Training Collar.

In training a dog, one needs "both sides of the coin".  The first side is using motivating treats and rewards to teach a new behavior and the second side of the coin is the remote collar which ensures reliability of the command especially when amongst environmental distractions such as other dogs, squirrels, cats, people, etc.

It's important to teach the dog foundation skills so she/he knows how to make the novel stimulation feeling go away.  For this reason, it is important to participate in private training or the Remote Adventures Class in Garden City or at Walled Lake, or follow along Robin MacFarlane's excellent "Just Right!" DVD instruction of training.
