Many times I am asked what is the secret for having a calm and happy family dog?  There are no dog training secrets as some people would advertise.  Instead, effective and humane dog training is based on scientific learning principles and what I call the Canine Circle of Health.

A dog's potential is increased if you provide the following:  Prevent undesired behavior from being rehearsed, Manage your dog's environment such as using a baby gate to separate your dog from your baby; Teach your dog "how to behave" via private dog training or group dog training classes; Socialize your dog properly via puppy socialization & good manners classes, dog daycare, pet sitter interactions; Veterinarian wellness checks; Proper nutrition by feeding a holistic dog food such as Life's Abundance that is constantly made fresh; Exercise; and Mental stimulation via obedience exercises, tricks and games.  If you do these things, you will be well on your way to having a calm and happy family dog.
