Dog Socials - "Meet Up Group" for Dog Lovers
Michigan Dog Trainer Michael Burkey
Michael Burkey's Canine Behavioral Training has organized a  local Meet Up Group of dog lovers who take nature walks with their dogs and each other on a regular basis.

It's purpose is to unite dogs and their human companions at fun outdoor events which may include gatherings at dog parks, nature hikes, cross country skiing, etc.  Some events will be off leash such as at fence enclosed dog parks while all other events will be on leash nature hikes and other outdoor activities.  Essentially, the events will be whatever you can imagine that is safe and fun to do with your dog.

The group is open to all breed of dogs, large and small who are safe (green light dogs) with other dogs and people. Events will be held in SE Michigan, primarily in Western Wayne County, Southern Oakland County and Eastern Washtenaw County.

Meet Up Events are not training classes.
However, they can be useful to further socialize your dog in new environments and amongst other safe dogs and friendly people once your dog has learned good manners.  Plus, it's simply fun to go on walks with other dog lovers and their faithful companions.

Many of Michael's students join the meet up group as a fun way to stay active with their dog after completing their dog's training.  If your dog isn't yet ready to join a social group (either due to lack of obedience or social skills), join the Outdoor Adventures group class for dogs.
